At Adhere we’ve been working with Drupal, the open source content management system, along with Wordpress and several other systems for quite a few years now. They’ve come along way since the early days of Mambo and Joomla. For versions 5 and 6 we have developed quite a few bespoke modules for various client and in-house projects and with the migration to versions 6 and 7 and the improved functionality and integration of Drupal itself, bespoke module development has really begun to accelerate. Below is a brief overview of some of the modules we’ve currently developed and some we’re planning to be developing this summer.
A few of our completed modules:
Batch Image upload via ZIP - This module allows users to upload multiple images to a gallery or category using a zip file. The zip is uncompressed on the server and the relevant derivatives are created using imagecache.
Custom searches - many sites require a custom search. We have developed several custom search modules for searching CCK content fields for the likes of property websites, vehicle hire and e-commerce. We’d like to integrate a Views Module addon that can use a view for a search results page.
Shipping labels - a selection of sites need an option to print shipping labels at the end of a ecommerce backend process. This module allows the design and creation of bespoke labels created from Ubercart orders.
XML feeds to flash add-ons - Using a selection of our flash add -ons we have fed Drupal content via a custom XML feed into animated flash banners and applications, such as product carousels and dynamic flash banners.
Media Archive - This set of modules was designed to turn a Drupal site into a Royalty free media archive, capable of storing and selling images, videos and music files.
Upcoming Modules:
User hierarchy - for this we are creating a module that will allow different levels of users. This would allow a parent user with a specific role to be able to create their own ’sub-users’ who are then attached to them. The parent user would then also inherit user roles and therefore permissions of any of their child users.
Please get in touch if you are after any bespoke module development for Drupal.
